Light tables

They offer a wonderful learning resource - especially in a dark corner or on a dark, rainy day. They offer a great opportunity for children to explore familiar items in different ways such as feathers and leaves. They are great for exploring shapes, colours, silhouettes, light, colour theory and reflections. They support children's fine motor skills as they explore small objects as well as counting, sorting, classifying, balancing, patterning and visual discrimination skills. They are also wonderfully open ended - children will enjoy exploring them at their own pace - helping to improve their co-ordination and concentration skills.
