Learning through stories (part 12) - Stories at home

The bedtime story: Babies and todders often love to be read a book at bedtime. This relaxed, end of day moment is the perfect time for you to capture some quiet time together. Your baby will relish snuggling up and receiving all your attention while enjoying a favourite book, or listening to a story you've made up. Let your imagination take over if you like or feel free to embellish a story. This special time will form a cherished part of your child's routine.

Mealtime tales: You could try keeping your baby engaged at mealtimes by making up a story. It might be about who is coming to tea and what they would like to eat, or a story based around the items on the table - perhaps using different-sized bowls to tell your baby about Goldilocks and the three bears.
